Swimming in Malletts Bay of Lake Champlain, Mark waded right into the water up to his chest (it's shallow for a long time). He had so much fun "running" and jumping in the water, negotiating waves, figuring out the difference between floating and sinking, and throwing a big acorn he found on top of the water. We even introduced him to the game "monkey in the middle." He's fearless, but in a good way and we stay close and alert. (July 4, 2005) 

Trail running back to the car (trying to thwart the mosquitoes!) This kiddo ran/hiked the half mile to the beach and most of the way back after swimming. He definitely has Wayne's calves and endurance! (July 4, 2005) 

Hazel's second birthday party at the park. Mark had a great time playing with friends, climbing on the jungle gym, eating fresh strawberries and even came home with a yellow VW bug toy Hazel found at the park. It's all disinfected and now a part of his growing (slowly) car collection. 

This kiddo was a cupcake machine, he couldn't get enough. I know where those genes come from.... (July 2, 2005)
